Based on this research study of 5,000 British adults over a period of 20 years, 314 of them had all four unhealthy behaviors. Out of this group 91 (29%) died during the study.  Out of the 5,000 adults 387 had none of the bad habits and only 32 died (8%).

     The researches reported that the 387 group that did not have any of the bad habits were not only healthier but also looked much younger.

Several people have asked me about the effects of HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE recently.

The higher your blood pressure the harder your heart has to work.

Compare blood to ketchup, as you turn the bottle over it hardly moves until you  squeeze the bottle.  Blood is more like ketchup than water you have to apply pressure to make it flow. Compare your blood flow to that of a river. The current in the river is much faster in the middle compared the current next to the banks. The banks offer resistance to the flow which decreases the current flow. The banks of the river can be compared to the arteries in your body which provides resistance to the flow of blood. The objective is to reduce the resistance to blood flow in your arteries which will lower your blood pressure. The arteries form calluses to handle the friction which deceases the diameter of the artery and increases the resistance to blood flow.

Further damage occurs as toxic materials such as cholesterol migrates into the arterial wall. Local accumulation of sludge in the vessel wall will thicken which increases the turbulence and your blood pressure. If this sludge becomes dislodged, a blood clot will occur and the next step is to call 911 for a condition of heart failure or stroke.

 The eye transmits outside images  directly to the brain

 through the optic  nerves. The lens and cornea bend light  rays to focus on the light-sensitive  lining (retina) which

 contains special  cells called photosensitive rods and  cones.

 The cones are concerned with  detailed color vision and are  concentrated near the center. Rods are  more numerous

 around the periphery  and work in poor light and are more  productive for night vision. In front of  the lens is a

 pigmented ring of muscle  (iris) which controls the amount

 of  light entering the eye by controlling 

 the pupil.

If your joint has a tear in the meniscus ligament, additional therapy may be required since the meniscus will not repair itself. Cartilage does not have a blood supply as it receives its oxygen and nutrients from the synovial fluid that bathes your joints.
